RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Adults and Pediatrics, Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the Clinical Research Coordinator– Respiratory Therapist is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies. The person will collaborate with Investigators and health care personnel to assume responsibility for the overall patient management and coordination of several clinical studies for the CIM of the RI-MUHC.

The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the new Glen site hospital which is a unique center in Canada of 5000 m2 dedicated exclusively to clinical research.

General Duties

• Assesses patients for protocol eligibility through personal interviews and / or medical record review in in-patient and out-patient settings,
• Maintains, completes and updates concomitant and adverse event logs and questionnaires and protocol specific source documentation,
• Completes patient charting accordingly,
• Administers sedation and analgesia as related to study protocol,
• Processes and ships samples according to clinical protocol and manuals,
• Verifies medication compliance and patient diaries,
• Provides coordination of all aspects of data collection and source documentation,
• Maintains and updates regularly the study lab kit inventory logs, destroys expired kits and requests study kits as needed,
• Conduct other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
