Application Operations Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our client’s growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and optimizing application environments across Classic Cloud, AWS, and Azure, with experience in Java-based applications, Middleware technologies, and Monitoring tools. This role requires a proactive professional who can ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical applications while adhering to industry standards such as ITIL and ISO8583.

Key Responsibilities

· Application Operations & Maintenance

o Manage and support application environments across Classic Cloud, AWS, and Azure platforms.

o Perform deployments, upgrades, and patching for Java-based applications and middleware components.

· Monitoring & Incident Management

o Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure application health and performance.

o Respond to incidents promptly, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

· Middleware & Integration

o Configure and maintain middleware platforms (e.g., WebSphere, JBoss, or similar).

o Ensure seamless integration between applications and payment systems using ISO8583 standards.

· Compliance & Best Practices

o Apply ITIL principles for incident, problem, and change management.

o Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards across all environments.

· Collaboration & Documentation

o Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize application performance.

o Maintain detailed documentation for operational procedures and configuration

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Technical Expertise:

o Hands-on experience with Classic Cloud, AWS, and Azure environments.

o Strong proficiency in Java application management and troubleshooting.

o Knowledge of ISO8583 messaging standards for financial transactions.

o Experience with middleware technologies and integration frameworks.

o Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or

o similar).

· Process & Standards:

o Solid understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.

o Ability to work in compliance-driven environments.

· Soft Skills:

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

· Degree in Computer Science, engineering or similar

· 5+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE or Cloud Platform Engineer

· Certifications in AWS, Azure and ITIL.

· Experience in financial services industry

· Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
