We are looking for bright and motivated actuarial consultants to join the team and support our growing list of customers. Your primary responsibility will be to manage Client relationships and projects, but your experience and curiosity will serve as integral input to Clyde’s R&D and product roadmap. This remote position will be based in Ontario and support the growth of Clyde’s Canadian business.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Client teams to implement and manage actuarial rating plans for various lines of P&C insurance using Clyde’s API Analytical Platform and software application.
  • Develop proposed rate level and segmentation changes on behalf of Clients. Quantify impacts of rate change proposals and communicate findings to Client management.
  • Convert existing Excel based tools to the Clyde Analytical Platform to enable more efficient rating analysis and implementation.
  • Evaluate Client internal systems and reporting tools for efficiency, problems and inaccuracies. Develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning actuarial data.
  • Execute exploratory data analysis to extract meaningful insights around the Client portfolios; leverage various algorithms and techniques for model development; measure / monitor results and refresh models periodically.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar discipline.
  • 2+ years of related P&C insurance actuarial experience.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R.
  • Experience in navigating complex data structures and writing SQL queries involving multiple tables, joins, subqueries, and aggregations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses.
  • Highly detail oriented with excellent organization skills along with the ability to maintain adequate documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and recommend / formulate innovative solutions for new problems.
