Position Summary :

Estimator will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious client acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You will assist the Sales Manager with estimating support, client presentations, and reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Interpret project documentation and develop Building Automation / Building Control design basis and cost estimates.
• Work with the account manager to provide written responses to “Request for Proposals” (RFP), quotes, and / or specification clarifications.
• Occasionally meet with consultants and owner groups to understand project scope, provide budgets and / or develop project specifications.
• Understand project delivery and provide solutions both within controls scope and other areas outside of our typical scope.
• Instill customer’s confidence in the solutions that Ainsworth provides.
• Build and maintain good working relationship with contractors, vendors and service team members.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, construction plans and written specifications
• Experience in estimating labour and material costs for controls projects
• Exceptional communication skills; strong oral and written skills
• Keep up to date on new Delta and other controls products
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
• Prior field and / or sales experience related to automation / controls. A working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems (at least one of these)
• Positive attitude towards customers and employees
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Ability to travel to customer sites
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have Full-time access to own vehicle for site and customer visits (vehicle allowance provided)
