Overview

Scope of the Position

The CAE will provide technical project consulting and support services to our existing customers, as well as investigate new potential application areas and assist with the promotion of solutions to these application areas. He or she will use current technology in order to solve problems in the manufacturing process. The CAE will be required to listen to the needs of our customers and help propose solutions and provide demonstrations and benchmarks. Addition tasks include, but not limited to, the technical training and Helpdesk support for customers, develop a professional network and pursue work for Flex-N-Gate, and help develop new plans for advanced engineering analysis. The CAE will perform structural and dynamic analyses on products. He or she will develop and execute modeling and simulation methodologies using standard and advanced finite element analysis. Other duties may be added.

Responsibilities

  • Provide CAE consulting. Specialization areas may include fatigue, cracking, design optimization, multi-physics, fluid / structure, etc.
  • Efficient time usage and completion of project work and concise report writing, focused on customer results to tight deadlines will be an ongoing challenge
  • Assist with the selling process
  • Listen to needs, help propose solutions working with the sales department, and provide demonstrations and benchmarks.
  • Provide technical training and helpdesk support “on-call” for end user support.
  • Help develop new marketing plans for advanced engineering analysis.
  • Responsible for analyzing and testing of existing and future product lines
  • Maintains correct engineering and technical disciplines
  • Utilizes knowledge of product design, materials, parts, and fabrication processes.
  • Conduct correlation studies between Finite Element Analysis and physical testing
  • Write technical reports
  • Work with external and internal customers to resolve open issues.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or
  • Minimum three years’ experience in CAE / Finite Element Analysis
  • Knowledgeable in CAE pre / post-processing (Hypermesh)
  • Knowledgeable in CAE solvers (LS-Dyna, Abaqus)
  • Possess analytical capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledgeable on Engineering materials
  • Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
