Skid Steer Operator

Location: HRM, NS
Employment Type: Seasonal, on-call as needed (opportunity to extend into the snow season)
Positions Available: 1
Reports To: Plow Operator – designated locations
Hourly Rate: $19/hour

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Skid Steer Operator to support seasonal operations in Lucasville and surrounding downtown locations. This is an on-call role ideal for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working flexible hours, including long shifts and weekends when required.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently on active job sites
Assist with site maintenance and seasonal operations as directed
Follow all safety procedures and site guidelines
Communicate availability and work assignments via cell phone
Support plow operators and field teams at designated locations
Work extended hours and weekends during peak operational periods

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 6 months of experience operating a skid steer
Completed required certifications and training to operate skid steers on job sites
Must reside within the HRM or have reliable transportation to downtown work locations
Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions; warm clothing required
Strong work ethic; dependable and reliable
Must have a cell phone for work-related communication
Ability to work flexible schedules, including long hours and weekends as needed
