Accountant (Remote)

Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. As a key contributor, you will work closely with senior management to support budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial planning—all from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

Process invoices, payments, and payroll in a timely and accurate manner.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.

Monitor cash flow and manage accounts receivable / payable.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve financial systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Zoho Books.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.

Good communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a remote or digital environment.

Experience working with multiple currencies and global clients is a plus.

Prior experience in a tech or service-based company is advantageous.

Working Hours

Flexible working hours with core availability required between 10 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM (EST) .

Monday to Friday schedule; weekends off.

Fully remote with periodic virtual team meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of accounting regulations (GAAP / IFRS).

Familiarity with cloud-based financial systems and digital workflow tools.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset.
