Reporting and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, strategic direction, and medical consultation for health promotion and disease prevention programs.
• Manage multiple health portfolios and stay informed on international and provincial public health developments to advise on local responses.
• Deliver intensive medical advice on managing public health issues specific to assigned portfolios.
• Conduct research on community health problems and prepare written papers for publication and presentation at public health or specialty conferences.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call system with the Medical Officer of Health for the Public Health Department.
• Manage people resource planning for the operating unit.
