THE ROLE
Are you a hands-on Welding Engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Our client in Simcoe is looking for an Engineering Welding Specialist to take ownership of their GMAW, spot welding, and projection welding operations from end to end.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and leading plant welding programs while managing new equipment and projects from design and procurement through installation and full production. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, continuous improvement, and being the go-to technical expert for welding systems and processes.

Maintain and lead plant welding programs related to GMAW, spot welding, and projection welding cellsManage new welding projects and equipment from design, procurement, installation, and commissioning through to productionIdentify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, quality, safety, efficiency, and reliabilityTroubleshoot equipment and process issues, implementing effective countermeasures and improvementsCollaborate with Engineering and Management teams to prioritize work across R&D, design, and manufacturingResearch, investigate, and propose cost-effective equipment modifications to improve reliability, safety, quality, and throughputWrite technical specifications for the procurement of equipment, tooling, and utilitiesLead the design, construction, acceptance testing, and installation of welding equipment and toolingREQUIREMENTS
Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Welding Engineering, Automation & Robotics , or equivalent hands-on experienceMinimum 2 years of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong working knowledge of GMAW, spot welding, and projection weldingExperience with robotic welding programming is a strong assetWorking knowledge of PLC-based or computer-controlled machine systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematicsCAD experience (Inventor, AutoCAD) is desirableAbility to operate machine tools such as MIG / stick welders, lathes, milling machines, and hand tools is an assetStrong skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environmentStrong leadership skills with a collaborative, team-focused mindset#INDSTRIVEON
