Procurement Manager @ Advanced Energy Minerals

Location : Ville St-Laurent, Quebec, Canada

Our innovative products include alpha and gamma alumina powders (SupALOX®), aluminium chloride hexahydrates (SupACH®), and alpha alumina pucks (SupPUCK®). Leveraging our patented low-carbon Chlorine Leach Crystallization Purification (CLCP) Process, we achieve product purities up to 99.999% (5N). Our first production plant in Cap Chat, Quebec, is already operational and delivering top-tier products to our customers.

Position Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team at our Ville St-Laurent. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services, and managing supplier relationships to support our production operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Ensure the continuous supply of required materials and services while mitigating risk of supply chain disruptions.
  • Monitor market trends and identify potential opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions to secure the best value.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, engineering, quality assurance) to understand material requirements and ensure alignment of procurement activities.
  • Oversee inventory management and optimize stock levels to balance cost and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the manufacturing or chemical industries.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Proficiency in both English and French is highly desirable.
