Production Supervisor
Job Description
Location : Keele & Hwy 7 Concord
Salary Range for this role is $K – $K / year subject to the candidates experience and technical portion.
Shift-Monday to Fridays Days
Essential Job Functions :
- Works directly with Director of Manufacturing on production planning, budgeting, and key performance indicators.
- Oversees production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results.
- Meets production requirements and delivery schedules by monitoring personnel, and resources, expediting work results, fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Improves workflow by eliminating stoppages, analyzing delays, identifying solutions, recommending and implementing action plans and process improvements.
- Supervises manufacturing team by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by assisting Human Resources with recruiting, selecting, orientation and training employees.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing regulatory and organizational standards and procedures, including educating and directing personnel on established policies and procedures.
- Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Provides manufacturing information to company management team by compiling and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities utilizing Daily Continuous Improvement and ensuring countermeasures are adopted for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Job Requirements :
Union Environment Experience is preferredSig Sigma certification is preferredThis position requires College or University Degree in Engineering. Will consider 8 years Manufacturing Supervision experience in lieu of education.Must have Supervisory experience in Shipping / Receiving.Knowledge of Assembly line and WELDING would be an asset.Experience in coaching, process improvement, quality management, safety management, tracking budget expenses, and production metrics.Ability to read / interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and contract specifications.Must possess good verbal and written communications skills and be able to function as part of multiple teams in a fast paced and multi-task environment. - - Must be highly organized and comfortable working with tight deadlines.Should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software; Order processing systems and Manufacturing software (ERP)and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of QAD would be advantageous.Must be able to work flexible hours and OTAccountability for actions is a mustSuccessfully works in a cross-functional team environment of buyers / purchasers, engineers, schedulers and customer service.Supervisory experience in Shipping / Receiving is a plus.
