What is the opportunity?
We’re looking for a seasoned Life and/or Living Benefits insurance underwriter to join our Corporate Underwriting Team. Your focus? Driving growth through digital underwriting solutions that prioritize efficiency, data-driven analysis, and exceptional client experiences.
What will you do?
•Design underwriting questionnaires, develop rulesets and manage automated underwriting tools
•Lead strategies to enhance RBC’s automated and accelerated underwriting programs
•Collaborate to innovate, digitize processes, and ensure responsible data use
•Shape underwriting guidelines to deliver client-centric, profitable solutions
•Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and non-traditional risk assessment methods
•Provide expert underwriting analysis on contestable claims
•Mentor colleagues to strengthen technical risk assessment skills
What will you need to succeed?
Must Haves
•7+ years of hands-on Life and/or Living Benefits insurance underwriting experience in the individual market
•Passion for challenging the status quo and driving innovative risk solutions
•Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
Nice-to-Haves
•Bilingual in English and French
•Proven expertise in designing and implementing accelerated underwriting rule sets
•Familiarity with project management, product development, or risk management frameworks

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
