The Product Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting, demonstrating, and selling the company’s products to new and existing customers. This role requires a strong understanding of the product portfolio, enabling the representative to clearly communicate value, address customer needs, and effectively position solutions in the market. By combining product expertise with strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills, the representative plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction and supporting the company’s long‑term growth.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new prospects through calls, prospecting, and new business development
- Develop and maintain a sales strategy and organize quarterly business review (QBR) meetings within your territory
- Use the business plan as a roadmap for developing go‑to‑market programs, including sales objectives
- Proactively plan webinars with existing partner customers
- Assess and leverage the potential of existing customers and prospects
- Follow up with all existing and potential clients
- Represent the company to new customers
- Prepare sales forecasts and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Develop a strong understanding of Systemex Automation solutions and demonstrate them to customers and potential partners
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly
- Support the RFP response process by providing technical and functional requirements for automated solutions to help close sales opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with distribution partner accounts to create additional sales opportunities
- Collaborate with the applications team to bid on the best solutions for customers
- Negotiate contracts and close sales agreements, ensuring favorable conditions for both the client and Systemex
- Be perceived and treated by partners as a reliable resource
- Collaborate with the field marketing organization to plan, deliver, and manage effective communication and demand‑generation campaigns for each partner in the region
- Ensure accurate reporting of key activities and update information in the HubSpot CRM database
- Oversee the application of commercial agreements
- Gather and share product information from the market and validate customer understanding
- Participate in trade shows
Required Skills & Qualifications
5–7 years of varied technical experience in engineering or automation AND experience in sales or business development, ideally in the fruit and vegetable industry or greenhouse sector (an asset)Ability to travel across Canada, particularly to Leamington, ONStrong knowledge of sales strategies, methods, and employee motivation techniquesProven experience and results in B2B sales and business developmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and with customers and senior executivesExcellent presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skillsStrong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close commercial agreementsDynamic, entrepreneurial leadership style with strong motivation to achieve sales goalsFamiliarity with CRM software (HubSpot), sales tools, and digital marketingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to learn new technologiesAutonomy, initiative, and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage priorities and demonstrate rigor in executionWillingness to travel extensivelyExperience in manufacturing engineering or relevant operations experience is an assetExperience in automation is an assetBenefits We Offer as an Employer of Choice
