Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing customer invoicing, ensuring timely collection of overdue invoices, and processing payments to maintain cash flow. This role will be based out of our Bedford, NS location and is an in office/hybrid role.
As an AR Specialist, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately recording and applying payments to customer accounts
- Manage collections by following up on overdue invoices and resolving payment issues
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and process financial reports to support financial reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve past-due invoice issues and support collections efforts
- Use software to prepare and issue invoices and statements electronically
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and programs teams to ensure financial accuracy for invoicing
- Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision and strategy
What you require to be successful in the role:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent training with 3+ specifically accounts receivable experience
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Planning, organization and time management skills
- Ability to work on complex problems
- Strong analytical and financial skills
