Duties
Are you a seasoned IT security professional with a passion for safeguarding critical systems and data? FINTRAC is seeking a Senior IT Security Analyst to play a pivotal role in protecting the integrity of our digital infrastructure.
As a key member of our IT Security team, you will provide expert guidance, conduct in-depth security assessments, and help shape the future of cybersecurity within the Agency. 📍 This position requires onsite presence at our headquarters located in downtown Ottawa (234 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, Ontario) or in one of our regional offices located in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto and requires onsite presence at least 3 days per week and as operationally required
Intent of the process
🔎 The intent of this process is to fill one (1) indeterminate position with a BBB / BBB linguistic profile.
📍 As the position is located in Ottawa, preference will be given to candidates who can physically work at our headquarters located in downtown Ottawa (234 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, Ontario). If no candidate is found, we will consider candidates who can physically work in one of our regional offices located in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto.
Qualified candidates will be considered for future vacancies (indeterminate and term), with various language requirements, as they arise.

EDUCATION :
ED1 - Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management, or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed; or, at the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training, and / or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it applies only to the specific position and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
EXPERIENCE : EXP1.
EXP2. Recent
EXP3. Experience analyzing information and preparing reports, briefing notes, or presentations for management; and,
EXP4. Experience developing and monitoring IT Security requirements and / or policies, standards and other related documentation.

ASSETS :
AS1. Vendor neutral IT Security certification (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), etc.).
AS2. Experience in the execution of IT Security assessment activities as part of a certification and accreditation or security assessment and authorization program.
AS3. Experience in the production and delivery of IT Security awareness and training.
AS4. Experience with and understanding of IT security frameworks and standards (e.g. ITSG-33 / NIST 900-53, ISO 27001 / 27002, COBIT) or risk assessment methodologies.
AS5. IT Experience in roles subject to Government of Canada IT and Security policies.

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB / BBB)
In order to be appointed, the successful candidate must meet the language profile of BBB at the time of appointment.
A BBB / BBB profile means that a person whose first official language is French must possess the BBB level in English and a person whose first official language is English must possess the BBB level in French.

Conditions of employment
Top Secret security clearance - You must be a Canadian Citizen and eligible for a Top Secret security clearance to FINTRAC's standards.
FINTRAC’s process includes a suitability interview, a credit and financial check, fingerprinting, a background investigation covering at least the last 10 years, as well as other assessments necessary to determine a candidate’s suitability for work at FINTRAC.
Candidates must be able to produce sufficient records to any period of time spent outside of Canada and may be subject to further assessment.
As needed, candidates may be required to submit security documentation and may be subject to security investigations at any phase of the selection process.
Suitability is an on-going condition of employment at FINTRAC and must be maintained.
