Job description

Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for architecting innovative solutions? Our Edmonton utility client is seeking an Architect Specialist to join their team on an initial 12-month contract, delivering critical IT infrastructure projects. You’ll play a key role in developing application architectures that enhance business performance, reliability, and efficiency while supporting cutting-edge technology transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement application architectures for major capital projects.
  • Provide mentorship and review application solutions to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Architect transitions from current to future technology states.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Identify and budget for IT infrastructure and system changes.
  • Support data integration efforts with Azure services and Oracle platforms.
  • Communicate architectural visions effectively to stakeholders and teams.

    • Qualifications

  • 6+ years of IT experience, including solution architecture and capital projects.
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Stream Analytics, and Data Factory.
  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL / NoSQL databases.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle database, PL / SQL, and WebLogic technologies.
