About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic (410T) to join our equipment maintenance team. This role is critical to keeping our diverse fleet of excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and ancillary equipment operating safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and on-road haul trucks.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and document equipment condition and repair history.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns on active construction sites and perform field repairs when required.
- Work with operations team to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain organized shop environment and ensure tools and parts inventory are properly managed.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed for equipment repairs and modifications.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Participate in equipment procurement decisions and provide technical input on specifications.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience as a heavy diesel mechanic, preferably working on construction or earth-moving, open surface mining equipment.410T certification strongly preferred.Solid diagnostic abilities with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, or similar heavy equipment brands.Proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic control systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record; DZ license an asset.Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.Reliable transportation and ability to work at our rural location.What We Offer
