Job description

What you’ll do :

  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach
  • Provide accurate and timely estimates following current building practices and codes for custom new homes, RTM homes, commercial buildings, agricultural buildings, and smaller building projects for internal sales teams at all Lake Country Co-op Home Centres
  • Perform material take-offs from working drawings
  • Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels
  • Consistently work within the 5% accuracy tolerance base on information provided
  • Distribute job-specific plans to trades for pricing, receive and review quotes
  • Compare price increases / decreases and review all variances between original budget and Purchase Order (PO) amounts to provide explanation and report errors / provide corrective action to prevent future duplication of variance
  • Prepare for job release to field for construction start and release job POs on a timely basis
  • Review customer change order requests for pricing
  • Update and maintain base model pricing and option databases
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of products and services offered by each Home Centre location
  • Adhere to the Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, policies, procedures, records, and training requirements and lead this program by example
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you will work with :

The Team : Reporting to the Homes by Lake Country Site Team Leader, you will collaborate with a team of professionals including the Sales Team Leader, Estimating Team Leader, RTM Construction Lead, New Home Construction Lead, Residential Installations Lead, Ag Installations Lead, and site Building Materials Team Leaders and Salespersons on this fun and passionate team to cultivate a culture of collaboration and customer focus.

Who you are :

You are looking for a Career in Home and Building, Construction, Estimating, and Customer Service and :

  • You have previous Building Materials, Construction, and Project Estimating experience relating to residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings; previous new home construction experience would be an asset
  • You can read, understand, and interpret construction documents, plans, drawings, and specifications
  • You are well organized and can work independently, or as part of a team in a demanding environment with minimal supervision
  • You work well under pressure and are savvy with balancing and meeting multiple strict deadlines
  • You possess strong oral and written communication skills and communicate effectively using multiple communication channels
  • You are goals driven, attentive to detail, and hold precision and accuracy as core values
  • You are available to work a flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends are required
  • You have knowledge of computer estimating software or similar systems
  • You must be able to fulfill physical job requirements – manual labour is required
  • You are willing to travel periodically for short periods of time to visit sites, shows and training events
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe) knowledge is required along with the ability to manage computer files and records efficiently
  • A Valid driver’s license (class 5 minimum) is required
