Duties and Responsibilities

The Psychologist provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders and related mental health difficulties in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The Psychologist offers ongoing psychological treatment to families and parents of children / adolescents and adults referred to the program. As part of the team, the Psychologist provides evidence-based care, works collaboratively with team members and community partners, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D in Psychology with competency in Clinical Psychology with adolescents, adults, and families;
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario;
  • Experience in outpatient settings within a brief acute care model, preferably in a hospital;
  • Substantial training and experience in eating disorders with adolescent and adult populations;
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and formulation skills, including individual and group psychotherapy;
  • Ability to work effectively on an interdisciplinary team;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong consultation skills;
  • Research and program evaluation skills;
  • Commitment to client-focused philosophy;
  • Professional image and commitment to safety and inclusion values;
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
  • Satisfactory performance record;
  • Understanding and commitment to Lakeridge Health's values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy;
  • Participation in safety programs and regular in-services.
  • Conditions of Employment

    Employment terms are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
