Compensation : $122,418.00 - $187,707.00 (Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers Council Secretariat (PSEC))

The Executive Director, Student Affairs provides strategic and visionary leadership to a range of departments, programs, and committees which focus on the student experience, student rights and responsibilities, and holistic student development and support.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to the portfolio
  • Eight years of senior management experience in post-secondary focused on student experience and success
  • Proven ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate organizational plans
  • Proven ability to engage in critical thought and data analysis to inform strategic planning, goal setting, and program evaluation and assessment
  • Proven ability to synthesize detailed, complex information into clear and compelling recommendations and briefings
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, and oral communication skills, delivered in a manner appropriate to the audience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis interventions and emergencies
  • Evidence of an inclusive and collaborative approach to leadership
  • Management / supervision experience, ideally in a union environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teambuilding
  • Strong budget and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary students, including subpopulations within and their academic success and support needs
  • Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviours that engender collaboration, trust, and respect consistent with the responsibilities of this position
