The Financial Analyst will support financial reporting, analysis, and business performance management activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, contributing to strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across accounting and reporting processes. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple business units to deliver timely insights that support operational and financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support an effective and timely month-end close by preparing and reviewing journal entries, intercompany accounts, prepaid expenses, inventory, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and manage bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and legal entities.
- Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for business units and subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Prepare quarterly financial reporting packages, including consolidated financial statements and variance analysis for senior leadership and the Board.
- Perform detailed monthly and quarterly variance analyses (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual) and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance.
- Liaise with external auditors during interim and annual audits, including preparing audit documentation and explaining internal controls and processes.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, IFRS standards, and corporate governance requirements.
- Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and business process documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements within general accounting, reporting, and close processes.
- Support automation initiatives to enhance billing accuracy and improve payment timeliness.
- Assist with tax compliance activities, including Employer Health Tax (EHT) remittances and monthly or quarterly HST filings.
- Complete ad-hoc financial analyses and participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA preferred.3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or analytical roles, preferably in a multi-entity environment.Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with experience building financial models and presentations.Strong working knowledge of IFRS and internal control frameworks.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Proactive, self-motivated, adaptable, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Our specialized recruiting professionals apply their expertise and utilize our proprietary AI to find you great job matches faster.
