Reporting to the Building Automation Operations Manager, the Building Automation Technician will be responsible for projects, maintenance, and service calls. Under the supervision of the Building Automation Operations Manager, Project Managers, and with the help of Service Coordinators and Administration, the Building Automation Technician will conduct themselves successfully and as required to fulfill contracts, contribute to projects, and service our valued clients and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to the following :
- Compliance with Ambient Health and Safety Policies
- Investigation of existing or new systems, existing or new equipment
- Provide take-offs and assist with quotations
- Network start-up and setup and troubleshooting (IP, RS-485, etc.)
- Point-to-point verification of I / O
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot of systems
- Implement a graphical user interface (GUI)
- Documenting and cataloging commissioning
- Submission of commissioning reports
- Perform wiring checkout and automation start-ups using provided software and tools
- Adjustment and calibration as required
- Operate and configure PC workstations, user interfaces, IP networking devices
- Perform software and hardware troubleshooting
- Maintains daily, weekly, and / or monthly documentation and or reports as required
- Participates in training directed at increasing job-related skills
- Contributes to the training of other employees as directed
- Works according to the schedule prepared by the service coordinators
- Reacts to emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours
- Assists and ensures that all work areas are returned to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition
- Reports to supervisor any information having the potential to affect customer or employee relations
