Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Carpenter (Custom Millwork Fabricator) to join our wood shop. The ideal candidate will be an elite craftsperson and natural leader, with experience with all aspects of architectural millwork fabrication and familiarity with a variety of materials.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The custom millwork fabricator will :
- manufacture and assemble high-quality custom architectural elements and structures
- read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications
- determine tolerances and test project elements
- operate all woodworking machinery, finishing equipment, power tools, and hand tools
- work with different materials, including solid surfaces, epoxy, metals, melamine, solid wood, wood products
- perform exact measurements, ensure precise installation of hardware and other elements
- perform wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes
- monitor quality across the team and ensure each piece is fabricated to a high standard
- plan and execute fabrication strategies; oversee and manage junior fabricators and assistants
- manage schedules to meet deadlines and provide consistent, regular project updates to management
- maintain awareness of inventory and requirements for upcoming projects
- ensure safe work practices are adhered to and follow all safety policies and procedures
- maintain a clean and tidy work area and facilitate required repairs and maintenance to all equipment
ABOUT YOU
You have :
training from a relevant program such as woodworking, millwork, carpentry or cabinetmaking OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experienceexperience as a lead-hand or senior fabricatora passion for challenging fabrication and tight tolerancesthe ability to self-motivate and be schedule consciousa strong attention to detail and amazing problem-solving skillscompetency in reading and interpreting blueprints / drawingsa thorough understanding of health and safety principles and practicesa willingness to collaborate with a team and work independently when neededan in-depth understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing / building materialsexperience with materials like wood, solid surfaces, fabric, acrylic, glass, leatherflexibility to work occasional evenings and weekendsWHY JOIN EVENTSCAPE?
