Background
The SaskEnergy IT Operations Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) team is seeking proposals for a Senior Support, Maintenance, and Development resource focused on SharePoint.
SaskEnergy’s SharePoint / O365 platform has emerged into a key collaboration and document management environment as well as an application development platform. The continuous growth requires expertise and resources focused on the business use and support of the environment including leading best practices in SharePoint governance, training, security, and integration.
In addition to SharePoint, SaskEnergy’s environment consists of a comprehensive web environment utilizing the following technologies : HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, ASP, .Net. Our web hosting environment is Internet Information Services (IIS). Our development environments include : .Net, Visual Basic 6, and PowerBuilder. Other technologies used include : COM and SQL Server 20012 – 2019 as well as Oracle 12c. Our server environment consists of Windows Server in a virtualized (VMWare) environment, AIX and Oracle Solaris. SaskEnergy’s client operating system is Windows 10 Enterprise.
Some of SaskEnergy’s larger application imprints are : EnterpriseOne, ESRI, Content Server, Customer Care and Billing, CLICK, Quorum, Cherwell, and Jira.
SaskEnergy currently utilizes the following platforms : Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Microsoft Office, SharePoint 2013 , EnterpriseOne, ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, BizTalk 2013 and Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Utility Analytics.
Description of Requirements
The successful Senior Resource candidate will :
Design, maintain, support and develop within the existing and future SharePoint solution.
Work within the IT Operations team.
Have the ability to work as part of a larger team as well as independently
Have proven ability to switch focus quickly, learn new skills, and effectively prioritize work items, with minimal direction.
Have the ability to troubleshoot and work through complex technical issues.
Develop and maintain good documentation.
Knowledge share / transfer
Participate in and perform development and code reviews
Identify and assist in the coordination of ongoing maintenance tasks, application and database server upgrades.
Work closely with business and other IT team members on a day to day basis to address production support issues as well as changes and enhancements to existing applications.
Follow SaskEnergy’s established development and change management processes
The key skills and knowledge areas required for the Senior Resource are outlined in attached Appendix C – Supplementary Specifications . North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal. Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams, and make our projects as successful as possible.
The preference for start date is as soon as possible. The initial term for this role(s) will be up to two (2) years after which SaskEnergy will evaluate its on-going requirements and potentially extend the term for this resource in accordance with the terms and conditions of the proponent vendors Master Services Agreement.
