Red Seal Trailer Mechanic

Job Summary:

Van-Kam Freightways is currently seeking a Red Seal certified Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a trailer mechanic you will be responsible the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation.

With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair trailer components, including brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and tires.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair or replace damaged trailer parts and components.
• Keep accurate records of all inspections, repairs and maintenance performed on each trailer.
• collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve complex trailer issues.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while working on trailers.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A strong customer service attitude.

Training and Experience

• Red Seal Certification is an asset.
