Radiological Technologist role at Fraser Health Authority. Location : Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, British Columbia. Position : Casual. Salary : CAD $36.69 - $45.81 per hour.
Position Details
Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services. The Medical Imaging transfer is complete, and we are excited to have the Medical Imaging Team as part of Fraser Health. We currently have an opportunity for a casual Radiological Technologist at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Performs all general duty radiographic / fluoroscopic procedures consistent with established standards, procedures, radiation protection practices and protocols. Works with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.
- Operates radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, processes radiographs, enters data into RIS / PACS, validates image quality and reports problems to the supervisor.
- Explains procedures and gives instructions to patients; answers questions and collects relevant clinical data; maintains and updates records in the appropriate systems.
- Prepares contrast agents and trays for examinations; disposes of items according to hospital policy; cleans instruments for return to reprocessing.
- Monitors patient care and safety, ensuring procedures adhere to department standards and policies.
- Contributes to quality improvement and risk management efforts; participates in approved research or special projects in collaboration with supervisors and health professionals.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties related to patient demographics, histories and data entry.
- Participates in departmental orientation, in-service presentations and training; supports continuous quality improvement / LEAN initiatives.
- Maintains equipment and performs basic quality control checks; arranges for repairs as needed and keeps the work area clean and stocked.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
Certification with the CAMRT.
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.Ability to perform radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental standards.Knowledge of evidence-based practice related to the designated modality.Knowledge of PACS / Radiology Information Systems and image archiving and retrieval.Strong communication skills with clients, families, co-workers and physicians.Ability to operate related equipment; ability to work independently and with others; ability to establish workload priorities.CPR knowledge; computer skills; physical ability to perform duties.About Fraser Health
