River Rock Casino Resort is currently recruiting for a Casual / on-call Commis Chef – Pastry to join our team. Under the supervision of the Assistant Pastry Chef, this position is responsible for the preparation of food items, and maintaining all company standards through adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities for our Commis Chef – Pastry will include :
- Preparing and baking all cookies, desserts, pastries and confections
- Preparing mis en place (“setting in place” of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production
- Cleaning kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures
- Attending monthly culinary meetings
- Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned or directed
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications :
