Position Title : Kitchen Coordinator (Country Heritage Park)
Reports to : Centre Director

Hours of Work : Monday Friday, within the hours of 7 am 6 pm
The Organization
Centres for Early Learning, fully licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Toronto Childrens Services, is made up of ten childcare centres serving communities in various high need areas of Milton and Toronto, Canada. The Role
The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible to distribute nutritious and appealing meals to the classroom, wash dishes after lunch as per the health guidelines and regulations to maintain the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner.
Success
The successful candidate will have knowledge of food safety and will have a high regard for ensuring the children are served their meals on time, and that they meet food safety requirements set out by the ministry and Ontarios health department.
Qualifications
Food experience is an assetFood Handler Training or Food Safety TrainingAbility to use frequent light to medium physical effort : lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stoopingAll staff working with children are required under the Child Care and Early Years Act to have a valid standard first aid certification including infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) prior to the first day of workUp-to-date immunization recordUp-to-date Vulnerable Sector Police Record CheckDuties & Responsibilities
To record food temperatures as required by the Health DepartmentTo ensure that food temperatures are maintained at the appropriate levels throughout arrival and servingTo distribute food amounts in accordance with the guidelines from the caterer and appropriate to the age level of the children in each group, in an attractive manner, with the appropriate number of serving dishes and all utensils neededTo handle all food and the environment in an hygienic mannerTo set up trays containing the appropriate number of all plates, bowls, cups, cutlery etc. for each groupTo inform the VP when quantities are too much or too little or of any errors in the order received and request cancellation of items in stockTo organize and maintain all storage areas and ensure that any food items kept at the School are stored in closed containers and according to health regulationsThe Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for daily cleaning of the kitchenComply with all health, fire, CCEYA regulations and School policiesTo wash hands thoroughly before handling food and each time after returning to the kitchenTo wear an apron and hair net / covering at all timesTo follow fire drill proceduresTo complete kitchen inventory as per scheduleTo wash all snack and lunch dishes and all utensils used, as scheduled, and according to Health RegulationsTo prepare all birthday treats ordered by the familiesCentres for Early Learning is an equal opportunity employer.
