Position Summary: This course provides an introduction to cybercrime as defined by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. It will incorporate an introduction to the United Nations Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, its application, and ramifications. Students will study cybercrime as a growing, global problem from a theoretical and practical perspective. Topics may include legal and conceptual frameworks, digital forensics, and technical cybercrime investigations. This course curriculum was developed in partnership with the UNODC.

Qualifications – Required: Master’s Degree

Qualifications – Other: MA in Criminology, Sociology, or a related discipline that is clearly and directly connected to the course content; PhD or PhD in progress preferred. Work and/or research experience relating to the substantive area of cybercrime is considered an asset, as is prior teaching experience. (MEd / EdD will not be considered to meet the minimum educational requirement.)

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part‑time Librarians Collective Agreement, for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent.
