Reporting to the Bakery Production Supervisor, this position supports the production of the assigned Bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received. The role involves controlling quality, freshness, inventory and wastage.

T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 36 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 13 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion will bring more new stores in the next few years.

Responsibilities

• Produce the correct quantity of assigned products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received.
• Perform production duties such as: dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing; prepare fillings such as fruits, meat, paste, custards; control fermentation and baking time, monitor temperature of cooler and oven; decorate Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries.
• Control product quality, freshness, inventory level, and wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, equipment, tools, and workplace safety in the production area.
• Answer customers’ enquiries.

Qualifications

• Accountable, pleasant, and able to take initiative.
• Prior experience in making bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries), with knowledge of dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing; preparing fillings; controlling fermentation and baking time; monitoring oven temperatures; decorating products.
• Knowledge of workplace health & safety and food safety (Food Safe Certification required).
• Good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the job.
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Team player.
• Flexible to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, morning and evening hours.
