The City of Yellowknife - Planning and Environment Division is growing with new initiatives and transformative projects that will shape Yellowknife's future. To meet this exciting demand, the department is seeking a skilled Planner II professional who is ready to guide and contribute to shaping our evolving urban landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

As a Planner II, reporting to the Manager, Planning and Environment, you will bring a long-term perspective, guidance, and expert planning skills to guide a wide range of projects and policy development works. In this role, you will :

• Contribute to major planning and development projects that align with the City's short- and long-term goals.
• Provide recommendations on complex development permits and prepare policy and bylaw documents for public review and Council approval.
• Conduct research, provide data-driven recommendations, and deliver impactful reports that shape municipal strategies and priorities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective implementation of policies, projects and development permit process.

SALARY :

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $99,541 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a monthly housing and vacation travel allowance totalling $450, and a defined benefit pension plan.
