Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

Geotechnical Engineer role at BBA Consultants. You will perform tasks and provide services in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, analyses, deliverables, and reviewing design and construction within project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical management and direction of geotechnical site investigations; supervise activities, evaluate materials in the laboratory, and prepare and review technical reports
• Review and supervise civil and geotechnical construction activities
• Conduct field evaluations, assess landslide risks, perform mapping, and produce reports
• Manage geotechnical instruments : prescribe, supervise installation, monitor and record results
• Analyze geotechnical characteristics (slope stability, compaction, seepage, deformation, etc.)
• Conduct soil mechanics and classification activities; assess slope stability and design reinforcing and supporting structures
• Ensure technical quality of deliverables as part of multidisciplinary project teams
• Collaborate with team members and clients; participate in proposals
• Travel to project sites within Canada, and occasionally overseas
