Safety & HR Coordinator

We currently have an opportunity in our HR / Safety team for a Safety & HR Coordinator working out of our Merritt, BC location. In this role, there will be a combination of office administration, regulation compliance monitoring, being active in the plant with safety initiatives, and conducting training.

As a Safety & HR Coordinator, your responsibilities will include but not limited to :

• Being a resource to leaders and employees, answering questions, and promoting best practices in human resources, and safety
• Conducting or assisting with various HR and safety training
• Developing, maintaining, and updating records and documentation with accuracy
• Completing ergonomic assessments, safety audits, fit tests, and various safety inspections
• Assisting with incident reports, WCB claims, disability claims, and case management
• Participating with the Joint Health & Safety Committee and being a First Aid Responder, including involvement handling serious incidents
• Partnering with the team to plan and execute corporate and safety events
• Maintaining and supplying PPE and safety supplies as needed; including coordinating, scheduling, and assisting hearing tests and custom hearing protection
• Participating in ongoing learning and networking within the community
• Other safety and HR duties as assigned
