Summary of Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceFollow departmental policies, procedures and service standardsAssist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standardsEnsure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipmentHave full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotionsEnsure proper labeling, dating and storage of all items in the kitchenFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehiclesOther duties as assignedQualifications :
Previous experience in the culinary field an assetUnderstanding of knife use and safety requiredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesMust be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorizationDepending on each position there could be additional qualifications that are requiredPhysical Aspects of Position :
