SharePoint Architect

We’re looking for a hands on SharePoint Architect to design, solution, and lead delivery of modern digital workplaces on Microsoft 365—anchored in SharePoint Online, Viva Connections, and Microsoft Purview. You’ll translate business outcomes into secure, scalable architectures; guide SPFx and low code customizations; and ensure compliance by design with Purview governance, DLP, records management, and eDiscovery capabilities. You’ll partner with product owners, security, and engineering to ship experiences that employees love—and that risk and audit teams trust.

Key Responsibilities

Own end to end architecture for SharePoint Online solutions : information architecture, site topology, navigation, multilingual strategy, search, personalization, performance, and resilience—grounded in M365 reference architectures.

Architect and implement Viva Connections as the front door to the digital workplace in Teams : home site strategy, dashboard / app cards, audience targeting, news syndication, and governance for OOB + custom experiences.

Lead Microsoft Purview design for retention labels / policies, records management, DLP, insider risk, and eDiscovery; align controls to regulatory obligations and rollout plans across SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.

Solution complex requirements with the right mix of OOB capabilities, SPFx (web parts, extensions), Adaptive Cards / ACE for Viva, Power Platform, Graph, and selective third party integrations—always with ALM, security, and lifecycle in mind.

Define and enforce governance : site provisioning, naming / policies, lifecycle / archival, sharing / external collaboration, content types / metadata, permissions model, and change enablement.

Pre sales & solutioning : shape statements of work, estimations, roadmaps, and POV / POC approaches for modern intranets and ECM solutions.

Quality & delivery leadership : direct technical workstreams, perform design / code reviews (SPFx / Power Apps / Power Automate), and ensure CI / CD, telemetry, and non functional requirements are met.

Qualifications

7–10+ years designing and delivering SharePoint solutions (2013 → Online), with deep expertise in SharePoint Online information architecture and M365 platform services.

Demonstrated Viva Connections implementations (home site, dashboard / ACE cards, Teams app deployment, audience targeting, news), including governance and adoption planning.

Hands on Microsoft Purview experience across retention / records, DLP, and Insider Risk—from policy design and simulation through enforcement and run state tuning.

Proven SPFx (React / TypeScript) architecture for enterprise portals; Graph, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 app model know how; practical Power Platform usage with ALM.

Strong solutioning background : writing SOWs, running discovery / architecture workshops, producing HLD / LLD, and presenting to both executives and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience shaping external collaboration and secure sharing models for SPO / Teams (guest / B2B, sensitivity, conditional access) with Purview DLP overlays.

Background in regulated industries (FSI / Healthcare / Public Sector) mapping Purview controls to retention schedules and supervisory needs.

Knowledge of Microsoft Search, Graph connectors, and content lifecycle / archival patterns at scale.

Compensation

Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
