In this role, you’ll lead complex geotechnical investigations, mentor junior staff, and engage directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver technically sound, innovative solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects across a range of sectors - from infrastructure and industrial facilities to land development and geohazard assessment. If you're technically strong, client-focused professional looking to make a lasting impact in a dynamic and growing organization, we want to hear from you.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Plan, manage, and execute geotechnical site investigations and field programs.
  • Provide technical leadership on projects involving deep foundations, shoring, slope stability, and ground improvement.
  • Analyze geotechnical data and prepare high-quality technical reports and recommendations.
  • Prepare and review proposals, cost estimates, and project scopes.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Attend project sites, clients office, and other consultants offices  for meetings and field reviews, as required.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and represent GEI at industry events.
  • Support multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across offices and regions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering from a recognized institution; Master’s degree is an asset
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in a Canadian consulting environment.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in geotechnical design and analysis software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and solutions-oriented.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
  • Additional Requirements

This is a safety-sensitive position that involves fieldwork.
