About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Advanced Care Paramedic is assigned tasks by the Clinical Leader and works in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members to meet patient care needs.
They support patient care by practicing within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice and demonstrating competencies in the provision of care.
The Advanced Care Paramedic accepts responsibility for maintaining and continually enhancing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, research, and continuous quality activities.
Advanced Care Paramedics practice and conduct are defined by the professional registration body (EHSNS), and they are responsible for ensuring that registration is current and valid.
The Advanced Care Paramedic contributes to the efficiency and effective functioning of the department in meeting patient needs.
They support the development of colleagues and students by acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Grade XII required
- Registered and licensed with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS) required
- One (1) year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic an asset
- Current BLS (HCP) Certification required
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care preferred
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$31.52 - $36.57 Hourly
