The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor the Maintenance Person 2 is responsible for ensuring the efficient turnaround time on vacant units and carrying out material and equipment installations renovations repairs and servicing in the following areas - carpentry plumbing heating electrical painting and ventilation on properties under the jurisdiction of Cape Breton District.

What youll do

Responsibilities

• Carry out material and equipment installations renovations repairs and servicing in the following areas - carpentry plumbing heating basic electrical painting and ventilation.
• Carry out assessment and preventative maintenance to all assigned buildings appliances fixtures utilities and equipment in accordance with established standards policies and procedures.
• Maintain properties under the jurisdiction of the Cape Breton District including walks driveways and parking areas drainage systems curbs and gutters swales culverts manholes catch basins etc.
• Prepare and complete documentation such as work orders vehicle reports maintenance logs inspection reports and inventory records.
• Repair vacant units to make them rent-ready.
• Operate motor vehicles motorized equipment and power tools used in the trade.

This position requires a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle. Travel within CBRM is required.
