Job description

Mandatory Skills :

  • Cerner Scheduling Expertise :
  • Extensive experience with Cerner Scheduling modules and functionality.
  • Ability to design, configure, and customize clinic schedules and appointment workflows in Cerner.
  • Deep understanding of Cerner’s architecture, interfaces, and scheduling logic.
  • Expertise in optimizing Cerner Scheduling to meet specific healthcare site requirements.
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Oncology :
  • Specialized knowledge in oncology-related scheduling requirements and challenges.
  • Familiarity with the specific needs of oncology clinics in terms of scheduling, treatment planning, and patient flow.
  • Understanding of oncology-specific workflows, appointment types, and resource management within Cerner.
  • System Implementation & Go-Live Support :
  • Experience with end-to-end Cerner system implementation, including cutover and go-live activities.
  • Ability to provide onsite support for troubleshooting, training, and ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation phase.
  • Requirements Analysis & Solution Design :
  • Strong skills in gathering and analyzing business requirements for scheduling systems.
  • Ability to provide technical inputs and suggestions on complex build activities, ensuring that the system meets the site’s requirements.
  • Experience in configuring and optimizing system functionalities based on these requirements.
  • Project Management Skills :
  • Ability to manage time effectively and track project progress.
  • Experience working within tight deadlines, with a focus on timely delivery of system builds.
  • Collaboration skills for working with diverse teams, including technical, operational, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management :
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, including end-users, project managers, and leadership.
  • Experience in training staff and providing knowledge transfer to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Problem Solving :
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the Cerner Scheduling system.
  • Ability to diagnose problems in complex scheduling builds and suggest or implement effective solutions.
  • Health IT Knowledge :
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., HIPAA, HL7) that impact scheduling and EHR systems.
  • Understanding of workflows and operational processes within healthcare organizations, particularly in oncology and clinic settings.
  • Attention to Detail :
  • Strong focus on the accuracy and quality of system builds, configurations, and schedules.
  • Ability to test and validate system functionality to ensure it meets required standards and expectations.
