Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer or Candidate to the Engineering Profession (CEP) in protection and control (P&C), you'll be able to participate in the design of high-level schematics, the development of protection philosophy and contribute to large-scale electrical power projects. You'll work in a multidisciplinary environment as part of our Energy team in Saguenay, QC, developing your skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation and hydroelectric power plant projects for our client Hydro-Québec. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, enabling you to work from home and from one of our offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design Control and Protection systems using 2D software (AutoCAD)
- Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
- Collaborate with engineering team members and project managers from other disciplines
- Prepare plans, drawings and calculations based on supplied specifications
- Participate in the development of electrical Control and Protection systems, including one-line diagrams, logic diagrams, AC three-wire diagrams, DC protection and control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly drawings, material lists and specifications for the manufacture and site installation of Control and Protection panels.
- Participate in the design of AC and DC power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC and DC load calculations, distribution diagrams, connection drawings for chargers, batteries, inverters, etc.
- Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants)
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines : switchgear, civil, mechanical and building to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions.
- Ability to perform sporadic site work when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)
Qualifications
