Position Summary

As aSoftwareArchitectin ourSystemsResearch & Development group, you’llplay a prominent part in the development ofCBN’s next generation of systems.You’llresearch and experiment with new technologiesand designtheproducts and solutions that will drive ourtechnological roadmap andshape ourfuture.

What You Will Do

  • Identifyand researchnew technologythat will support theongoingdevelopment of CBN’scurrentsuite of system solutionsand shapeour technologicalroadmap;
  • Collaborate withcross-functional teamstodetermine anddefineprojectsoftware requirementsandidentify themostappropriate tools / technologies / standards;
  • Identify,propose, and recommendhigh-levelprojectsoftwarearchitecturesolutionsto senior management, providinghigh-levelestimatesandcost-benefit analysesforeach;
  • Define and design(on-prem or cloudbased)softwaresystems,components, andinterfacesthataresecure, robust, reliable, resilient,andscalable;
  • Communicatesoftwaresystemdesignstosoftware development teamsand providedirectsupport(troubleshooting, coding, as needed throughout theimplementationprocess;
  • Coach and mentorsoftwaredevelopment teams onnew tools / technologies / standards; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.
  • Qualifications

  • University degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field)
  • 7+ years of(progressive)software developmentexperience
  • Experience designinganddevelopingon-premandcloud(AWS, Azure) solutions
  • ExperiencewithAgile development methodology(Scrum, Kanban)
  • Established coaching / mentoring skills
  • Excellent communicationand interpersonalskills
  • Mandatory Requirements

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Ability to traveldomesticallyand internationallyas required (up to 10%)
  • Ability to obtain / maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
