Senior Production Operations Lead
This opportunity leads Bayer’s Canola early breeding seed production operations to accelerate the development of elite germplasm and traits along the Canola R&D pipeline. This includes the Doubled Haploid production, Seed Quality analytics laboratory, Protected culture seed production operations and the overall management of the site. They will also fill the roles of Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach for the operational sub-units, outcome-focused teams at the Smartpark site to achieve the team’s mission and outcomes linked to product goals and customer value.
This is a permanent position based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
What you will do :
- Provide leadership and direction in establishing and maintaining a culture dedicated to the highest level of Environmental Safety and Health (ESH), Regulatory, and Quality performance. Responsible for Safety, Compliance, and Regulated policies and programs at the site, including assuring all employees meet site documentation and training standards and developing new programs as regulations evolve and change.
- Responsible for site financial performance, including executing capital and expense projects.
- Leads complex R&D production operations, including cross-functional and multi-discipline functions, by collaborating with partners to ensure site and Bayer business success.
- Develops technical capabilities and infrastructure as services to customer and product teams.
- Defines and tracks KPIs and metrics needed to deliver site objectives and outcomes reliably
- Co-creates across Breeding and Canadian networks on business, product, and customer strategies
- Responsible for the timely delivery of quality seed and data while maintaining efficient and effective operations to meet customer expectations
- Empowered to determine the resources needed for site operations, allocation, and flow of resources to and within the site while generating value by flowing resources and talent to support critical mission and process improvement objectives that increase effectiveness and customer satisfaction
- Create a site culture that respects differences, embraces inclusion, and allows all employees to bring their whole, authentic selves with a creative mindset to work every day
- Inspire the development, exploration, and execution of creating ideas in rapid cycles
- Ensure capabilities, skills, and mindsets are developed for all site personnel to create solutions and enhance the experience of customers
- Foster collaboration in a flat network of autonomous entrepreneurial teams with a limited amount of management support
- Creates vision that aligns team to stakeholders and customers to ensure Bayer, partner, and organizational missions and outcomes can be achieved
- Empower, support, and create accountability within the capability sub-hub and functional teams and contribute to delivering defined outcomes for all product, customer, and stakeholder needs
- Serves as the primary liaison and Bayer representative within the community where site resides
Who you are :
