The Edmonton Police Service has an opportunity for a motivated Courier able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of the Mail Services Unit and Materials Management Branch. Responsibilities of this position will include :
- Prepare mail / parcel for delivery based on route and location.
- Delivery mail / parcel to various departments, branches, business partners and other locations as required.
- Pickup mail from various locations
- Take special trips to pick up parcels or urgent mail / parcel as required.
- Perform driver maintenance as required.
- Prepare and inspect city vehicle prior to departure.
- Assist in sorting of both incoming and outgoing mail / parcels.
- Other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade.A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the courier services and / or mail handling industry.Able to effectively work alone and in a team environment.The ability to maintain excellent working relationships and deliver a high standard of communications services.Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and as an integral part of a team.Class 5 driver's license, city driving permit and defensive driving courses.Applicants may be tested.As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.Hours of Work :
40 hours per week, 0800 – 1600 hours Monday - Friday.
Salary Range :
21B, Salary Grade : 007, $23.787 - $29.534 (Hourly), $1,903.00 - $2,362.70 (Bi-Weekly), $49,667.26 - $61,666.99 (Annually).
