Job Title : Parks Information Officers and Lead Information Officer

Employment : Full‑time, 40 hours per week – Temporary (Seasonal)
Classification : Administrative Support 2 / 3 (AS2 / AS3) – Open Competition
Salary : AS2 $23.79–$26.76 / hr; AS3 $23.28–$29.46 / hr (based on 40 hrs)
Role Responsibilities
- Operate the registration booth / concession, processing reservations, changes, cancellations, check‑outs, and payments using the AspiraOne system.
- Provide front‑line customer service to day users and overnight campers, delivering information on park activities, regulations, and nearby amenities.
- Maintain cash drawer, reconcile daily cash totals, and process retail sales (firewood, concessions, rentals).
- Execute opening and closing duties, ensure facilities are secure, clean, and safe.
- Record and report safety incidents, wildlife encounters, lost and found items.
- Distribute and manage information‑based marketing materials (posters, brochures, program advertisements).
- Assist the Area Administrator with revenue tracking, reconciliation, and inventory management.
- Coordinate team schedules, conduct training, and provide performance oversight (Lead IO).
- Resolve visitor complaints, manage escalations, and ensure a welcoming environment for all users.
Qualifications
High school diploma (AS2); high school diploma + 1 year retail or supervisory experience (AS3).One year of relevant experience (retail, supervisory, or leadership) considered equivalent to education.Strong customer service and communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher) and ASIpaOne system familiarity.Valid, unrestricted Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent Canadian licence).Recognised standard First Aid & CPR certification.English language proficiency and willingness to work weekend and evening shifts during the season.Criminal record check required.Preferred Assets
Experience with Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca / Shop.AlbertaParks.ca or AspiraOne.Knowledge of Alberta Parks regulations, campground operations, and onsite visitor services.Previous supervisory or leadership experience for Lead IO.Customer‑service and cash‑handling experience.Adaptability, problem‑solving skills, and team collaboration.Terms of Employment
Seasonal contract (May 2026 – September 2026).30‑hour workweek required; weekend and evening work with applicable premium pay.Adherence to Alberta Parks uniform and safety policies.Outdoor duties in various weather conditions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
