What You Would Do in This Role

The Junior Piping Designer assists in the preparation of design documents and drawings during the execution of a project specific to their discipline specialty (Piping Civil Structural & Architectural (CSA) Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC)). Duties include :

• Drafting moderate-to-complex 2D drawings charts schedules etc.
• Preparing as-built drawings based on field red-line markups
• Developing designs and layouts requiring theoretical and practical design knowledge in a specialized field
• Assuring that work complies with the accuracy level and time constraints required for the assignment
• Potentially directing work for a small number of Junior Designer / Drafters providing guidance and instruction on work methods and checking finished work
• Drafting 2D drawings including PFDs P&IDs DPDTs MSDs plot plans key plans site plans etc.
• Drafting intelligent P&IDs using PDMS SmartPlant or other such software
• Conforming to client and company standards when carrying out intelligent P&ID (or project specific equivalent) data entry tasks such as item tagging for equipment piping manual valves and instrumentation (in addition to other object properties)
• Performing other duties as requested
