Bilingual Health Underwriter - 1 year contract

This position is a 1 year contract position

• Reviews all health applications for accuracy and completeness and approves applications that do not require corrective action or medical investigation.
• Exercises sound and reasoned medical underwriting judgements based on various underwriting requirements and case documentation.
• Communication with applicants / agents when information is missing or in error on the application.
• Communicates case decisions to applicants in a timely and customer-friendly manner.
• Submits recommendations for cases in excess of approval limits to Senior Underwriter or Manager.
• Orders requirements as per Underwriting guidelines or due to medical history.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bilingual in French and English; excellent verbal and written communication skills, French and English
• Undergraduate degree or combination of applicable work experience and education
• Preferred, minimum 2 years of relevant insurance industry experience in underwriting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proven excellent organizational skills
