Northern Plains Transport Ltd. is an innovative leader in selling, marketing, and distributing petroleum products, equipment, and supplies to industrial, commercial, agricultural, and retail customers in Canada. This position works within Northern Plains Transport, and third-party data management systems supporting our Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, and Operations teams. Personnel work on rotating shifts providing coverage 7 days per week. The work shift is 12 hours per day 07 : 00 – 19 : 00, with 1 hour for lunch. There is a requirement for on-call availability with the dispatch cell phone during the off-duty hours while on shift cycle. Maintenance : Monitor and update the automated Fleet Maintenance System Review Automated Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports, identify maintenance & repair items reported by the drivers. Safety - HS&E : Monitor and update the automated Driver Qualification System Monitor the Driver Daily Log portal to identify non-compliance with regulatory standards. Provide support and direction to driving staff. Provide support to the production team as needed, this may include lifting or moving items weighing up to 20Kg. Use the phone or computer to dispatch drivers, equipment, and or response personnel to proper locations. Monitor the routes and status of delivery units. Provide drivers with real-time information about orders, traffic, weather, and highway conditions. Enter data in computer system software, and record calls, activities, and other information. Proficient in English, (oral, and written) ability to communicate in Bengali, Tagalog, or Hindi would be an asset. Proven experience as a petroleum dispatcher or similar position within the trucking industry. Experience working with transportation software applications specifically, Motive, Office Track, and Carriers Edge. Tech-savvy with the ability to learn third party data systems. Understanding of equipment maintenance terminology and maintenance requirements. Accurate typing with experience in data entry and attention to detail. This is a safety sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Valid Class 5 Driver License, Class 1 licence would be an asset. 00 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits plan, including health, dental, prescription drug and extended health care.
