About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager or delegate, the Unit Aide is an integral part of the health care team. The Unit Aide performs tasks and activities which include patient flow, nursing and physician support, inventory control / ordering supplies, organizing clean utility, stock rooms and exam rooms, equipment cleaning, and maintenance, and following policies and procedures.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following :

Grade XII or equivalent required

Previous clinic aide experience preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology an asset

Understands and adheres to unit and hospital policies and procedures

Demonstrated ability to follow directions

Understands the importance of cleanliness in a hospital

Able to establish good relationships with people

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

Current certification in WHIMIS

Basic knowledge of infection control

Prior experience ordering and stocking supplies

Good judgment and demonstrated initiative

Competency with computer skills, MS Outlook, Excel and Word

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
