The Learning Specialist is a compassionate, learner-centred educator with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice. This role supports the delivery of the Inclusive Workforce Development Project by working directly with newcomer, migrant, BIPOC, and marginalized youth to build employment readiness, confidence, and career pathways. The Learning Specialist is responsible for providing individualized learning support, career coaching, and group-based
educational activities that respond to the lived realities and goals of participants. They help identify learning needs, support skill development, and guide youth through employment preparation, digital and soft skills development, and workplace readiness. The Learning Specialist also supports the delivery of innovative learning approaches, including workshop facilitation, hybrid programming, and Virtual Reality.
The Learning Specialist contributes to creating inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive learning environments. They engage with participants both individually and in group settings, track progress, collect feedback, and help refine program delivery based on participant experiences and outcomes. This position is funded through The Counselling Foundation of Canada and is well-suited for individuals entering, transitioning, or in the fields of education,
career development, counselling, or community services. The ideal candidate will have relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience in education, social services, career development, or a related field, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with youth and diverse communities.
