Job description

Entry Level – Operations Team

Western Dispatch is looking to bring on a new team member in our Operations Department. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a desire to grow. For the last 40 years we have been a leader in Express Courier and Freight Distribution solutions, servicing Greater Edmonton and the province of Alberta. Our work involves supplying our clients with an exceptional, cost effective delivery service, and to assist them in all departments surrounding logistics. The Operations Team is the nerve center of our organization. Their job is to manage the inner workings of the business, so it runs as efficiently as possible. The Operations team is a key part of the organization, not only are you executing on the day to day systems and processes, but you are also constantly working together to find, and build solutions for the company as a whole.

Here are just few responsibilities you will be carrying out with the rest of your team;

  • Customer Service Calls
  • Managing accounts and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Managing phone and email order entries for client requests
  • Monitoring KPI’s and other metrics to ensure productivity goals are being met
  • Supporting functions of other departments (order entry, billing, invoicing, warehouse)
  • Participating in SCRUM and Brainstorm meetings designed boost creativity and share ideas
  • Participating in Team Building Exercises.

In this entry level position you will be speaking with our clients over the phone and through email on a regular basis throughout the day, a large part of this job revolves around communication and customer service.

Knowledge and Skills

Our ideal candidate will have the following assets :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Tech-savvy : able to effectively use computers, smartphones, and software
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with a bias for action
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools
  • Interpersonal / Emotional Intelligence and the ability to work well in teams
  • Organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role
  • This role is centered around interacting with people everyday.
